On Portals, or Nostalgia for Unvisited Lands

Above is an image of Angkor Kwat, a Hindu Temple in Cambodia, from the end of the film In the Mood for Love (dir. Wong Kar-Wai). There's no way in a still to capture the movement through this passageway, a few seconds of leaving yet hovering, levitating.

The film's plot and characters are overly elusive, but the composition-balance-pattern-color-light in each frame is incredible - a progression of endless, partial, perfect pictures.
